Brahmanbaria Medical College

Brahmanbaria Medical College (BMC) is a private medical institution in BrahmanbariaSadarUpazila, Brahmanbaria, Bangladesh. It is recognized by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BM&DC) and is affiliated to Chittagong University. It was established in the year 2010, and its first class of graduates passed out in the year 2013-14, after its official recognition with Chittagong University. It offers a five-year Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees (MBBS), including a one-year internship to 50students each year. With its third batch of 80 students about to graduate in 2021, the college is committed to becoming a center of excellence in medical education. The college is renowned for its excellent results year-on-year, and the quality of its faculty. It focuses deeply on imparting practical knowledge of intensive treatments and methodologies to students. Campus Facilities The college includes super-specialized and digitized laboratories for fields of study such as Microbiology, Anaesthesiology, Radiology, Biochemistry, and others. These labs are well equipped with USG machines, X-Ray machines, MRI and CT scan machines, etc. The college compound is well built with spacious lecture halls, auditorium, and also a medical science museum. For student lodging, the college provides separate hostels for males and females with canteen and mess facilities. A computer lab with internet facilities and a sports ground for recreational activities is attached to the campus. There are separate halls for dining and recreation. For the comfort of students, it has close proximity to basic civic amenities such as ATMs, banks, railway station, bus stand, and the airport. It is situated roughly 150 km. from the capital city of Bangladesh. Admission Criteria The eligibility to be considered for admissions in Brahmanbaria Medical College are: – The student must have passed SSC or equivalent and HSC or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology – The student must have a total combined GPA of 8.00 and a minimum individual of 3.50 in all subjects – Upon meeting the eligibility, students in the merit list of the national entrance test conducted by the Director-General of Health Services of Bangladesh are considered for admissions Reservations – 5% of the total seats are revered for governing bodies – 5% of the total seats are reserved for bright students from underprivileged backgrounds – 50% of the seats are reserved for foreign students – 2% of the seats are reserved for kids of ex-military servants
