Jahurul Islam Medical College

Jahurul Islam Medical College was established on 26th August 1992. The college is an approved and affiliated institution of Dhaka University, BMDC, and recognizedby WHO. The institute is located in Bhagalpur village of Bajitpurthana of Kishoregonj District, Dhaka. The Jahurul Islam Medical College is named after the founder of the college, the great philanthropist Late Mr.Jahurul Islam. The Jahurul nursing training institute was established in 1989 to ensure trained and skilled professional nurses. The nursing institute has the approval of BNC (Bangladesh Nursing Council) and DNS (Directorate of Nurses Services). College Features Jahurul Islam Medical College is entirely self-contained buildings housing for all departments, disciplined and quite academic atmosphere, fully equipped laboratories, well-furnished and managed library with the vast collection, museums, lecture rooms, cafeteria, dissection hall, beautiful terrain that provide a pollution-free congenial atmosphere for a modern method of learning and teaching. Well-organized accommodation facility for males and females students (separate) with arrangements for a mess, gym, indoor games, common activities room, cultural activities, and TV. Admission Procedure  Eligibility for selection in the medical course includes a minimum of 9.0 CGPA in both SSC & HSC. For foreign students, 70% marks or 8.00 GPA in SSC and HSC or an equivalent examination such as level A or O  The admission test is conducted by DGHS under the Ministry of Health.  A student must have biology as a compulsory subject in HSC or A level. • All applied candidates are selected by the college admission committee on merit basis as per government directives.   Study break more than one year are not eligible to apply.   A medical check-up is done before admission to ensure that the student is medically fit for the medical study as per the medical board decision.
