TMSS Medical College
Situated in green lands of Thengamara, TMSS Medical College is a leading private medical education institution and hospital in Bangladesh. Affiliated with Rajshahi University and recognized by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC), it opened its gates to students officially on 26th June 2008. It is the largest private institution in northern Bangladesh dedicated to producing quality healthcare professionals and biomedical scientists. It offers degrees in MBBS, Biochemical Science and Dental Sciences to 130+ students each session.
Over the years, it has expanded itself as a leading educator of highly competent physicians, dentists, biomedical scientists, public health professionals, and allied professions. The Rafatullah Community Hospital, allied with TMSS, is a tertiary care centre where these students get training under experienced doctors. The hospital has facilities to accommodate 750 inpatients, and are expanding on this arrangement. TMSS Medical College has gained appreciation from the international medical fraternity as well. It is enlisted in WHO’s World Directory of Medical Schools and is recognized as a quality healthcare education institution by India, Nepal, and other SAARC nations.
College Facilities
The college has an excellent medical infrastructure with fully equipped laboratories for anatomy, forensics, biochemistry, community medicine, etc. It generates periodic journals in areas of medicine, dentistry, and allied sciences. There are residential facilities for both students and staff, adequately furnished for comfort and entertainment.
Admission Process
Admission at TMSS Medical college is based entirely on merit basis. The eligibility criteria and admission process are as follows:
- Passed SSC and HSC (or equivalent) exams with a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the science stream
- Scored a GP of 3.5 and above in Biology
- Merit holder in the national level entrance examination conducted by the Directorate General of Health Services, Bangladesh
- There are seats reserved for children of freedom fighters and underprivileged families
- A maximum of 50% of seats are open to international students
