It was established in 1968 as the First Medical College of North Bengal by Dr. B. C. Roy. Situated in the foothills of the mighty Himalayas with the best panoramic view of the Sleeping Buddha, Siliguri, West Bengal is a leading Government Medical College in West Bengal. In August 1978, NBUMC Renamed it to North Bengal Medical College & Hospital control by North Bengal University to Govt. of West Bengal. It covers a very large area of West Bengal. Here patients come from allied border regions of mainly three countries like Nepal, Bangladesh, and Bhutan. North Bengal Medical Hospital provides the largestmedical healthcare facility in the North Bengal region and also serving as a Tertiary Referral Institute and has learning programs for both Graduation & Post-Graduation Medical Courses. Admission Process It offers both UG and PG courses that are filled online. Aspirants should have min 17 and maxi. 25 years for UG with 50% Aggregate marks in PCB/Biotech combined in SSC and for PG Course MBBS degree from a medical college recognized by MCI and completed an internship.
